Well... since it's been such a long time since I've written that last journal entry (2 years!) I figured I might as well write something else to fill the main page space, aside from proclaiming myself nocturnal. And anyway, that seemed overly counterproductive, and makes me sound like I have an endless amount of free time on my hands, which isn't quite true. At least, once the upcoming semester starts it won't be.
And so I might want to write a bit about my photography; I've switched from a regular ol' P&S onto something with a bit more manual control, and am still figuring out the uses of most of those. Doesn't mean I got myself a DSLR though, for which I'm still regretting. The camera I now own is a megazoom with a HUGE freaking lens... seriously, if anyone tried to steal it from me, I could probably knock them unconscious with the big lump of glass. And break my lens in the process, but you know, whatever gets the job done, right? So anyway, I guess it's more or less a telephoto zoom lens. I haven't found that I needed the zoom all that often though, so in the end I do regret buying this thing instead of a DSLR, on which I may get more chance to practice, and learn, and take some crisper shots as well.
On the other hand, I do feel like I have gotten better at framing shots--I am by no means close to good enough, because I still only get about one decent shot out of every 3 or 4, but at least it's not all crap now. I'm looking back on some of the older stuff I used to post, and cringing at how evidently bad they were, but the upside here is that it means I've improved, and hopefully will continue to improve.
Well, maybe I'll let this entry sit for another two years, and see what happens to me then. Who knows? Maybe I'll be complaining a bit more about only sleeping when the sun is out.
